What does it mean to be a part of the IVY Lifestyle?
To be completely transparent, we’re still trying to figure that out. We're still trying to figure out what that looks like and what it means to people to be a part of this community.
What we do know is that we’re passionate about bringing people together and creating a sense of belonging and community. We’re still trying to figure out more ways we can do that. We are constantly brainstorming ways to build community and new opportunities to have an impact on the world. We don’t have it all figured out but I think that’s part of the fun and that’s part of why this feels more like a community than a company. We are ALL part of it, we are all shaping IVY, we are all part of creating something really beautiful that I happen to believe will make a massive impact on the world.
All that being said, this is as much yours as it is mine. This is a conversation, an experiment and an experience. I want to hear from you. I want to hear your story, your ideas and your interactions around IVY and I want to know what it means to YOU to be a part of this community!
The other day I was at a business breakfast (I can’t even begin to explain how out of place I was! Everyone was wearing business suits and I was wearing our blue IVY jumper! Haha) The speaker ended up giving me a shout out. In front of everyone, he called out me and IVY and said "huge things are going to happen through this company." The girl next to me turned and said “You’re IVY??” She went on to explain how she is right in the process of trying to figure out her purpose. She’s taking into account all her passions and trying to figure out where that leaves her, and what her calling is. She told me that just the day before a friend had sent her the IVY Instagram page and told her about how this was a custom longboard company but it was also so much more! It was inspiring and encouraging and ALIVE! How cool??
I have to be honest - If all I was doing was selling boards, I don’t think I’d be able to continue on this journey. I don’t think it would be enough to satisfy and fulfill me. But being able to make an impact through something as simple as a longboard and a little bit of heart (ok a lot)… That’s special. What’s even more special is the impact this company and community has had one me. Forever grateful for every single person that makes up this community, and if you’re reading this, there’s a 100% chance you are a part of that. Thank you!
